As an avid touring cyclist of many years, I always imagined that I'd eventually retire and hit the road on my bicycle. So when I learned that my job wouldn't allow me to take a sabbatical for an extended tour that I'd been planning, I gave notice and "Marie Kondo'd" my life. I traded the house for four panniers, the car for a dedicated touring bicycle, and the desk for a laptop. Then I headed south with the seasons. Because life is just *way* too short.
On the road nothing stops, everything moves, and I discovered that the only way to possibly capture and remember the day to day, be it positively epic or dreadfully mundane, was through photography.
In addition to cycling I also slow travel out of a 35L backpack with a Brompton folding bike. Gotta have wheels!
